Holiday AdventureAthon TBR

Holiday TBR

Hello fellow bookworms 🐧 After the amazing Sbooktober Readathon Jasmine @ NovelThoughts has returned with a festive Readathon, which makes me sooo excited!!! I have been waiting for a Readathon like that for ages and now it’s finally here! I’ll directly send you over here for the announcement post, which explains everything more in-depth and should answer all eventual questions. In general, I will tell you the basics about the Readathon as well as my TBR!

Like last time, the Holiday AdventureAthon is a choose-your-adventure Readathon with four different paths you can take leading you to a different Team. The four teams this round are: #holidayelf, #holidayreindeer, #holidaysnowman and #holidaypenguin. There are 7 reading challenges, but you can use a book for more than one challenge. Now to the most important information: the Readathon takes place from December 13th to December 24th, meaning right up until Christmas, which works very well for me! Like last year there is also going to be a bit of a house cup between the four teams!

My festive TBR 🐧

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses (Sarah J. Maas)

🐧 Presents 🎁 Read a book you got as a gift 🎁 My best friend gifted the book to me last Christmas (because she knew I was interested in reading it at some point), so now is the perfect time to finally read it, as I already feel guilty for not having read it yet.

🐧 Wish ✨ Read a fairytale retelling ✨ I believe that it’s a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, at least that’s what I have heard/been told a few times!

🐧 Nice 😊 Read a book that a friend recommended to you 😊 Said friend also recommended the book to me, because it’s one of her favorites and since I already got her addicted to my faves, it’s only fair that I try one of her favorite books as well!

2. Silber 03 [Just Dreaming] (Kerstin Gier)

🐧 Star ⭐️ Read a book with a metallic cover ⭐️ The original German edition has such a pretty metallic silver cover, so it definitely fits for the prompt. I am blinded just looking at the cover, it’s the shiniest I have seen in a while.

🐧 Jingle Bells 🔔 Read a book with the word ‘silver’ in the title 🔔 Since the direct translation of ‘Silber’ is silver I am counting my book for this prompt. The english title however does not have the word silver anywhere in it. Do I get bonus points because the book cover is also silver??

3. My True Love Gave to Me (Anthology)

🐧 Penguin 🐧 Read a contemporary book 🐧 This is an anthology so not all stories are 100% contemporary (some have a few magical influences), but since most of them are, I am counting this book. Bonus points for festiveness.

4. A Christmas Carol (Charles Dickens)

🐧 Cookies 🍪 Read a book while eating a festive food 🍪 Rereading A Christmas Carol before Christmas is a tradition for me and what better than to enjoy the book with a festive snack? There is so much to choose from: plätzchen & spekulatius (why is there no appropriate english translation?), gingerbread and much more!

Plätzchen & Spekulatius in case you had no idea what I am talking about – Yummy!
