Series Crackdown 8.0 TBR 📚

SC TBR August

Hello fellow bookworms 📚 It’s time for the Series Crackdown again! If you don’t know, the Series Crackdown Readathon is hosted and created by the lovely Mel @ thebookmoo. The Readathon is 10 days long and all about getting to that unfinished Series that have been sitting on your shelf for ages! The current round (round 8!!) is running from August 2nd to August 11th 💌 Like the last time there are going to be some fun sprints hosted at the Readathon Twitter as well as some Instagram challenges. I personally love that all the Sprints are hosted at 8pm GMT (9pm where I live), because I’m an evening reader, so I will hopefully be joining sometimes 🙂

There are even some amazing reading challenges with a cool bingo board! 😍 AND there is a new point system to make the Readathon even more fun! I’m very excited to be participating again, because I’m finally free of obligations and haven’t had that the last few rounds. Therefore, this time I will hopefully be more active (and collect those points 😉)! I will be using some of the books that I will be reading for the month-long NEWT Readathon for the Series Crackdown, because I have a lot of books in a Series on that TBR, so it’s perfect 💕

What I’ll be reading 💖

Vigilatte Cafe

This time around I have so much more time to properly participate in the Series Crackdown! I think … last time I didn’t read any of the books on my TBR and nothing at all for the Readathon so that’s sad 😢 However, now I have 5 books on my TBR that I think I can get to, especially with the Dewey 24 Hour Readathon coming up right at the beginning of the Readathon 👍 All of them also fit the NEWT prompts (the NEWT Readathon is running for the entireity of August), so I’m maximizing my Readathon potentila here. I have to say that I really missed doing Readathons, as I didn’t do any in June and July due to being so busy, but now it’s the month of Readathons 😍

1. Fireblood (Elly Blake) 📚 Sequel & Been on your TBR forever

2. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (C.S. Lewis) 📚 Film adaption & Includes a map

3. The Gilded Wolves (Roshani Chokshi) 📚 First book in a Series & Fantasy

4. Wires & Nerve Vol 1 (Marissa Meyer) 📚 Recommended by a friend

5. The Blood of Olympus (Rick Riordan) 📚 Last book in a Series

I actually managed to fill in all the reading prompts! You’re allowed to double up on the challenges, so that was really great. I’m positive that I can get to most of the books, as I plan to read at least two of them during the Dewey’s Readathon! There is only one thing to say: If I don’t finally read Fireblood, I’ll scream 😅 I have had this book on about 4+ Readathon TBR’s but never read it, despite loving the first book, why am I like this? 😱 Same with The Blood of Olympus, it took me over 2 years to catch up on all the books now, despite loving Rick Riordan and I need to finally read the last book, it’s the only one I have left! I also really wanted to finally start reading The Gilded Wolves and Wires & Nerve, because I love everything the authors put out and it’ll happen now 😍 The movie/tv adaption prompt was a lot harder to fulfill but I’m currently reading the Narnia books, so I choose The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (oh the Narnia movies, they are the best 💗)

  1. Best of luck with the readathon!! I have always wanted to participate in a readathon– they look so fun but I never have the time or the books for the prompts!! But it is so exciting that you are participating!!
I really need to read The Gilded Wolves– I am really interesting in the premise and the characters so I really hope you enjoy!!
And yes the Narnia movies are the best!! 😍
A series that is high on my priority list to finish is The Young Elites series by Marie Lu!!
    Happy reading!!! 💛

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂 I love doing Readathons, but my favorite ones are usually month-longe Readathons, because they allow yourself to be more flexible and less under pressure 😄

I have been wanting to read The Gildes Wolves for sooo long now, I hope we both enjoy it a lot! The Narnia books have been decent so far, but the movies will always be the best 😍

Ohhh I LOVE that Series, I hope you end up liking it! Thank you, happy reading to you too 💛

  2. oooh you are such a good readathon reader Caro!! ❤️❤️❤️ I never seem to have time on the appropriate days its actually a surprise how many books I get read in a month. hahaha I hope you finally get to Fire Blood! I find with books I wait a long time on that I either HATE THEM or LOVE THEM to bits. It’s really odd how that works out. Anyway happy reading and I hope you totally hit your target books.

    1. Yes, I missed doing Readathons sooo much in the past months! 😭 I’m glad that I found some Readathons that work for me, it’s great because I’m currently on semester break too 😍 I really need to get around to reading Fireblood, it needs to happen soon! Thank you so much Dani! ❤

  3. Fantastic TBR post! I haven’t read any of the books on your tbr so I am excited to see what you think of them. I’m joining in for the first time this round (TBR will be up tomorrow!) and I’m excited. My TBR is pretty small because I don’t want to overdo it, having just finished Reading Rush but I also seem to have a few books not on my official TBR that I am eyeing off as well? (I’m a mess, it’s fine 😭)

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂 Oh that’s so cool, I’m very excited that the Readathon has started now, as I really need to get started on reading some Series 😄 Ohh I’m so sad that I missed the Readathon Rush 😦 I definitely get your temptation, maybe you’ll get more reading in than you think, good luck 🙂

  4. I’ve decided to join this readathon too and I cannot wait for us to hopefully absolutely kill it with our reading! I know I need to pick up my reading again after the month I’ve had so I’m excited for this! I Can’t wait to see what you think of The Gilded Wolves and Wires & Nerves – both books I really adore! 😀
