Sharing the Blogger Love πŸ’— #2020BookBloggerAwards

Awards2020

Hello fellow bookworms πŸ’— I definitely couldn’t pass up the chance to shoutout my favorite bookish people for this year’s Book Blogger Awards, because I think it’s so important to share the blogger love and spread even more positivity!! πŸ’• The award is being hosted by the lovely May @ foreverandeverly and this year is also cohosted by the lovely Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks. I’m really grateful for the effort they are putting into hosting these awards because this is an opportunity to show our love for our fellow bloggers! You can find more information about the rules, timeline, and the full list of categories in the two announcement posts that I linked! The graphics for this year’s Book Bloggers Awards have been created by Kat @ Novels and Waffles!

Before we begin, I want to take this opportunity and ask you to leave any of your favorite blogs that you think deserve a little more love down below (that also includes your own blog, I’m happy to check it out!) πŸ’— As fun and great as awards are, they always create a fair amount of anxiety for me too and can be disheartening at times. I hope you know that your voice matters and that there is somebody out there who gets excited about your posts and enjoys reading them.

Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)

Emme @ aliterarylatte ➽ I just recently discovered Emme’s blog and I’m so glad that I found it because I love reading about her opinions on books, her reading habits, and other things like her favorite media! I especially loved reading about her 4 top tips for staying motivated and productive which is especially relevant in our current situation and really helped me. So all in all, I enjoy how varied her content is and I’m looking forward to reading more posts from herΒ  πŸ₯°

Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)

Sophie @ sophiexli ➽  Sophie is such a lovely, supportive person and I’m so glad that I found her blog through NaNoWriMo, as we’re not only fellow bookworms but also fellow writers! Therefore, I especially love all of her posts about her writing progress and participation in NaNoWriMo. I always look forward to learning more about her WIP and her opinions on books of course πŸ’• She also has a series called “Writer’s Corner” where she invites writers and authors to guest post or get interviewed, so that’s also really cool!

Awards5

Fantasy

Pauliina @Β bookaholicdreamer ➽ Pauliina is a person whose posts I love reading ever since I discovered her blog! She’s a very nice person that I like talking to and always feel comfortable with. I appreciate her and her posts so much especially as she’s also a fellow Fantasy lover and therefore introduces me to even more books from the genre that I could enjoy! I love reading her wrapup and reflection posts, as I always find more interesting books that I hadn’t heard of before – especially a bunch of Adult Fantasy books! ❀

Adult/New Adult

Destiny @ howlinglibraries ➽ I honestly love reading Destiny’s Weekly Wrap posts where she discusses the books she’s read is currently reading and planning to read next- This way I always get introduced to new books that I hadn’t had on my radar – specifically Adult or New Adult Books! I’m trying to branch out into reading something other than YA this year, so her opinions on adult books are especially appreciated. She also writes great, detailed reviews which are even more helpful for me to find out if I’d end up enjoying a particular book! 😊

Best Book Reviews &Β Best Personality

Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks ➽ I’m in constant awe of Marie because she’s SO engaged in the community and full of blogging love, so I could nominate her for a bunch of categories. She is writing excellent helpful discussion posts about all sorts of topics and great recommendation posts! Her love for writing Reviews even when they are not the most popular posts has kept me enthusiastic about continuing to write my own Reviews! So that’s why I had to nominate her for Best Reviews as I always check if she’s read and enjoyed a book – particularly contemporary books πŸ₯° I’ve found It Sounded Better in my Head – one of my favorite books of the ear so far – this way, as I requested it after seeing how much Marie enjoyed it! Not only that, but she is also incredibly friendly and welcoming to everyone, so it’s really easy to chat with her in the comments. I’m impressed by how she manages it all and you can truly see her love for the community shine through. I’m always very happy to read her posts and interact with her πŸ’— Also shoutout to her sister Nyx who frequently joins her in blogging and talks about books πŸ₯°

Margaret @ weirdzeal ➽ I’m incredibly happy to have meet Margaret, because not only is she such a lovely person to talk to, she’s also a fellow writer whose writing updates I greatly enjoy reading πŸ₯° I also love to hear about what she currently likes to read as I often find her recommendations to make me want to add the book in question to my TBR πŸ’— Recent examples include her great If You Liked This Try This (LGBTQ edition) post as well as her highlighting Queer Books by Black Authors! She also frequently talks about her recent reads and I enjoy finding out what she’s been up to reading-wise. Her love for books is contagious and I find myself always getting excited to comment on her posts! ❀

Best Discussion Posts & Most Helpful

Xandra @ starryskybooks ➽ Xandra’s blog always stands out to me by how creative and engaging the posts are. I especially love reading her discussion posts, because they offer me a fresh perspective and are so well-written and engaging. She covers different interesting topics in her posts such as the impact favorite series can have, and opinions on book to film adaptions. Xandra also offers helpful discussions/guide about blogging, like hee What No One Told Me About The Book Community series in which she discusses things she wished that she had known when she started blogging and her complex discussion about her relationship with blogging! Apart from that, she’s such a lovely person and great to chat with, in the comments πŸ’•

Taasia @ libraepaintspages ➽ I always enjoy visiting Taasia’s post, because she is putting out a lot of great content that I enjoy reading! I especially love reading her Wrapup posts, as they are generally my favorite type of post to read and Taasia makes them sound so interesting – I love catching up with what happened in her (bookish) life πŸ’• However, she also writes amazing discussion posts that are really helpful. Just recently she talked about 10 tips to get out of a blogging slump (a great resource to bookmark for future reference) and I also enjoy her previous discussions about her rating system or why she doesn’t have a bookstagram πŸ₯°

Best Blog Aesthetic

Sofi @ abookathought ➽ I just recently discovered Sofi, but her blog immediately caught my eye because it has got a really aesthetic, nice design that drew me in! Her blogging voice is really engaging and her posts immediately spoke to me! I loved getting to know her favorite books of 2020 so far and also enjoyed reading her newest discussion post about Reading Slumps and how they affect her reading habits. I definitely look forward to getting to reading more of Sofi’s content as I enjoyed the posts that I have already read πŸ₯°

Awards4

Most Supportive

CW/Joce/Skye @ thequietpond ➽ I love what a great platform The Quiet Pond is. Not only does it have cute animal inhabitants and makes me feel peaceful, but there is also so much support for the bookish community to be found. I love the Pond Gets Loud feature, as it allows other bloggers to make their voice heard about certain topics of discussion. I also appreciated the Pondathon which happened at the beginning of the year, as it really brought the community together and allowed all of us to have fun with all the creative challenges! There is also so much effort that goes into the Asian Heritage and Pride Month specials that highlight voices from the bookish community and happened all throughout the last months! ❀

Lais @ thebookishskies ➽ I definitely have to give a shoutout to Lais here because she always leaves the kindest, most in-depth comments on my blog and it’s always a delight to read them (and of course chat with her)! I love how supportive and friendly she is and her blog also has a lot of great content to offer. I particularly enjoy her Kaleidoscope of Tropes discussion, as well as other fun content such as the Top 5 Things she wishes to see more in YA and 5 Queer Reads to soothe the heart – all her posts are so well-written and engaging ❀

Most Creative (creative/original posts)

Sabrina & Veronika @ wordyandwhimsical ➽ I’m so happy that I discovered wordyandwhimsical because that’s how I meet Sabrina and Veronika! Both are amazing people, who are genuinely so friendly and great to chat with, so I’m always looking forward to their posts and talking about books in the comments! They have some of the most creative post ideas that surprise me every time and are really fun to read, I always look forward to seeing a new post in my Reader πŸ₯° Recent ones that I loved are about Bookish Coincidences, Best Opposites-Attract Couples, Lowest Rated Books I’ve Read and Unpopular Character Opinions! However, there are many more fun posts that I loved, so I highly recommend checking out their blog, it’s a goldmine for great content ❀

Mel @ cottoncandybookwitch ➽ I love the spectrum that Mel covers with their posts, they are talking about books, being a librarian and also includes witchy posts ✨ I always enjoy reading their content and love that they have got the courage to try out a lot of new things – I know nothing about witchcraft, but their witchy bookish posts are so creative and I love getting introduced to new things! I especially enjoyed that they did a themed Bookish Week revolving around an upcoming release such as e.g. Ghost Squad with fun posts to promote it! I also love their honesty about the struggles of blogging, such as their identity as a blogger and the question of how they want to manage their content going forward ❀

Divider2

Best Social Media Influencer

Cait @ paperfury ➽ In general, Cait is such a positive force in the bookish community. I absolutely love her blog – she’s got such an amazing writing voice which makes it so much fun to read her posts. Plus, Cait’s a kind, friendly person who spreads so much positivity and book love. I also love her TwitterΒ posts, as they usually contain some funny/relatable content about being a bookworm or a writer that always makes me smile 😊 I’m not on Instagram much but I love her colorful feed, it’s incredibly aesthetically pleasing and you can tell that she puts so much effort into her posts! ❀

Friendliest Member of the Community

Sophie @ meandink ➽ Sophie is another lovely blogger who leaves the most thoughtful and nice comments and is so approachable, so I always love chatting with her πŸ₯° She’s a fellow writer who talks about her progress but I also love her discussion posts e.g. her most recent one about Consumerism in the Bookish Community is so nuanced and well-written I highly recommend it! I also like reading her creative posts like what Small Tropes she likes in books and her collab post with her sister, which was super fun to read! She’s currently on hiatus, but I’m already missing her, so I hope she’s doing well πŸ’—

Tiffany @ readbytiffany ➽ Tiffany is always such a nice, lovely person to interact with and I love the aesthetic and wholesome atmosphere that her blog gives off for me. I loved reading all her posts, be it about the new Percy Jackson adaption or her Wrapups! I also love that she features so many reviews and blog tours on her blog, as I love hearing her thoughts about books. I especially love her Series Review for Vampire Academy, as it’s such a beloved and nostalgic series for me as well! ❀ (She always inspires me to finally read the Bloodlines books πŸ˜„)

Best at Promoting Diverse Books & Best Blogging Voice

May @ foreverandeverly ➽ May is a blogger who I deeply admire because she has such a fantastic blogging voice that makes me want to read all of her posts! I love checking out her in-depth Wrapup Posts as it feels like catching up with what happened in her life. I also love getting recommendations for her, as she puts so much effort into her posts and they are a goldmine for finding new books to love! I especially enjoyed her recent July to December 2020 Releases post as it introduced me to a bunch of new books that I can now anticipate! I also love that she makes promoting diverse books a priority on her blog, such as listing a 50+ YA Books by QPOC About QPOC to read for pride and her reviews and recommendations for great books with Asian representation!

Caitlin @ caitlinalthea ➽ Of course, I had to pick Caitlin here, because she’s simply incredible πŸ₯Ί I love how friendly, accepting and kind she is, I had a great experience buddy reading with her and discussion books, it made for one of my favorite bookish memories this year ❀ Apart from being a lovely person, Caitlin has such a well-rounded blog with amazing content!! She has really well-written discussion posts that always make me think such as her most recent one, which is about her thoughts on Blog Hopping. Caitlin also has fun content like Reacting to Twitter’s Unpopular Opinions and recently started a per cool series called ‘Caitlin Reads‘ in which she reads certain books that fit a theme! She’s also really engaged in the community, leaving lovely comments and has recently started a Favorite Posts of the Month feature that highlights posts she has enjoyed from the bookish community – a really great idea showing her love for the community πŸ’—

  14. Hallo, Hallo Caro!

I’m trying to start visiting the bloggers who’ve been announcing their nominations tonight – I also released my noms list tonight and eagerly await the next round. This is my first year I’ve been able to participate and my first time being nominated as well (twice). I am loving the chance to visit with bloggers but also see a bit into their own world by whom they enjoy reading themselves and supporting in the book blogosphere. I noticed a few mutuals but the joy for me is finding that I have a nice list of bloggers to visit and see if I can start following their blogs. Thanks for sharing!!
