April Readathon TBR’s 🌼 Easter Readathon & #ReadFatPositive

April Readathons

Hello fellow bookworms 🌼 I’m back with another Readathon TBR post!! I haven’t done an official one since December, when I talked about what festive Readathons I was joining, as I had little time with finals season happening at the beginning of 2021. I took part in a couple Readathons already this year – most notably GraphicsAThon, Women’s History Month Readathon and Tome Topple – and as I’m stilly partially on break in April, I couldn’t wait to join two more Readathons: The Easter Readathon and the #ReadFatPositive Readathon! πŸ’• Even better is the fact that they are hosted by two lovely fellow bloggers who I really like, that makes me even more excited πŸ₯°

Information

The Easter Readathon is back again this year and I’m very excited!! I’ve been participating in the past years and it has honestly been so much fun to read over the small holiday 🐣 The Readathon always takes place over the Easter Weekend, in 2021 this is from the 2nd to the 5th of April! The lovely Kate hosts it over at readingthroughinfinity where you’ll find her announcement and also a great giveaway that all participants of the Readathon can enter! It’s going to be another lovely weekend full of reading πŸ’›

Challenges

My Easter Readathon TBR

  • The Girl from the Other Side Vol 3. (Nagabe) ➽ Read a book under 250 pages
  • The Half-Orphan’s Handbook (Joan F. Smith) ➽ Read a book about new beginnings/with a pastel cover
  • A List of Cages (Robin Roe) ➽ Read a book that gives you spring vibes

I’ve picked out three books that I feel like I can get through within a weekend! It was hard to find a book under 250 pages on my TBR but I’ve recently been really getting into The Girl from the Other side manga! I also have The Half-Orphan’s Handbook high on my TBR! I got an eArc for a Blog Tour and want to get a head start by reading it, especially as it was on my most anticipated releases list (Not sure if the cover is truly pastel? It’s a bit hard to tell πŸ˜‚). Furthermore, I just picked up a copy of A List of Cages, which for some reason gives me slight spring vibes. It has been sitting on my Goodreads TBR for so long and I decided to finally get around to reading it πŸ₯°

Information

The first round of the #ReadFatPositive Readathon is taking place right after the Easter Readathon from April 7th to 13th! It is dedicated to reading books with fat main characters that have positive representation (no weight loss and instead a lot of body love) and encouraged to pick books that are ownvoices ❀ There is also another round happening in Summer – possibly July – that you can take part in! I immediately knew that I wanted to join in, because I feel like I haven’t prioritized reading books with fat representation as much as I should and definitely want to change that! 😊

My #ReadFatPositive TBR

FatPositive

  • Spoiler Alert (Olivia Dade)
  • The (Other) F Word (Angie Manfredi)
  • Miss Meteor (Tehlor Kay Mejia & Anna-Marie McLemore)
  • Dumplin’ (Julie Murphy)

I won’t be able to get to all these books within just one week, but I hope I can read at least two of them! Highest on my priority list is Spoiler Alert as I just got it in a Kindle Sale and have heard fantastic things about it, including that it’s very nerdy πŸ’• Apart from that I would love to read The (Other) F Word, an anthology full of different essays and stories – this is still on hold from my library, but I hope it comes in time for the Readathon. I also have the audiobook of Dumplin’ on hold from my library as I have been meaning to finally read a Julie Murphy book for ages. Last but not least I also check out Miss Meteor should I be in the mood for it, as I also have seen glowing reviews for it πŸ₯°

  1. Good luck with the readathon! I personally don’t participate in a lot of readathons because I just can’t keep up πŸ˜… but that definitely never stops me from trying to participate in them. Interestingly I can read more no. Of books in the same amount of time when I am not participating in a readathon. I think the stress gets me lol

    1. Thank you! I try not to participate in too many Readathons as well, as it can get a bit much. Two Readathons within a month is just the right amount for me πŸ˜„ I sometimes tend to read more during a Readathon, but I also get that it can be a bit stressful.

  3. This sounds like such a lovely readathon and I’ll definitely need to have a look at everyone’s tbrs for this – even if I’m not able to participate in the readathon directly. Spoiler Alert especially sounds so good. I love the online friends become irl (more than) friends trope so I’ve added this straight to the tbr! Hope you’re having a good April so far Caro!
