2021 Reading Checkin

Hello fellow bookworms πŸ“š The first half of the year is already over and I cannot quite believe it! After doing the Mid Year Book Freakout Tag, I also wanted to reflect on my progress with the Reading Challenges I joined this year as well, as I always enjoy seeing if I’m on track with my goals and how much I have achieved already. I also use this check in to see what books I want to prioritize towards the end of the year! In case you’re interested you can see my original TBR in my Signup Post at the beginning of the year (when things weren’t quite as dire) πŸ“š I’m also going to do a separate mid-year check-in for my own Out of Comfort Zone Reading Challenge later (probably in August after my exams), just like I did last year, so I’m looking forward to writing that post too πŸ’•

Goodreads Reading Challenge πŸ“–

2021

Read 65 Books βœ…

I’ve already completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge! πŸŽ‰ I always set my goal within an easy reach for my personally, so I don’t get stressed by the reading challenge. I’m happy to say that I already read over 65 books until now!! Graphic Novels and Audiobooks have really been my life savers this year and helped me stay on Track even when I was busy with university! 😊

Joining the St. Vladimir’s Readalong has been SO much fun!! ❀ I finally reread the Vampire Academy series after only talking about doing it for such a long time. It was a great experience and my love and nostalgia for the books is still huge! I’ll be doing a separate post on my reread thoughts later in August, as I loved seeing how my opinions changed/or didn’t change towards certain things! I also loved watching the live shows of the hosts though I sadly wasn’t able to join them live, expect for the first one. Now it’s time to start the Bloodlines series which is exciting as I have never read the spin-off books before, so it’s my first time reading them πŸ₯°

For this challenge I didn’t have a set goal, but I’m happy with my progress 🌈 I read a lot of queer graphic novels which was nice, but for the rest of the year I’m aiming to read even more books with a variety of identities! There is always room to improve and I have some lovely books listed down below that I’m excited to get to this year if all goes according to plan! If you have any recommendations for books I have to read, let me know in the comments πŸ₯°

Once again I haven’t read as many owned books as I would like πŸ˜… Trying to read at least 1 book from my TBR worked for the beginning of the year, but then I quickly turned to my digital library card again. I’m happy that I read at last 9 books by now and would love to up the total book count to 20 books for 2021! As you can see, I read way more books from my Kindle TBR, but I hope that I can read some more books from my Physical TBR as well. My TBR keeps growing (especially on Kindle as there were so many good deals), but I want to work on reducing it a bit, especially physical books! Here are some owned books I’d love to read soon πŸ₯°

  1. You’re doing really great with your challenges!!
I have two challenges I take part in (apart from the Goodreads one), Buzzword Reading Challenge, which I completely abandoned, and Queer Book Bingo which I’m still keeping track of but I ditched my tbr πŸ˜‚
I realised I’m not good with long term commitments, I prefer little things like monthly readathons.

    1. Oh no!! Sorry to hear that your library doesn’t have the Bloodlines series available πŸ˜” I’ve got the first two books and I’ll probably buy the rest of the series second-hand, as my library also doesn’t have the books. I hope you still get to read them!
