Hello fellow bookworms ๐ September is already over again and while I’m happy that it’s finally fall, this has been a weird month for some reason. I was in a strange mood but I have hope that October is going to bring some change and get me excited again! I’m already in full spooky/Halloween mood, as it’s one of my favorite times of the year to go all out with the decorations and content ๐งก

I read 10 books in August, 7 of these books were for the Magical Readathon which was back for another, all-new round! A reading diary will be coming your way very soon ๐ โจ I did okay with my TBR for the beginning of the month but then I was in a weird reading mood, so I changed up everything again (e.g. I’m pushing The Dire King to October and doing an entire reread of the series, as this is the final book!) ๐ In the end, I still read a lot of great books ~ I had one 5-star and three 4.5 star reads ๐ฅฐ I also finally wrote more of my overdue reviews – thanks to #goodreadance2021 – and I’m confident that I can catch up in October, which is good as I plan on doing a lot of reading next month ๐
I read 4 books out of my comfort zone this month … with mixed results! I loved Starsight (YA Sci-fi, book 2 in the Skyward Series) and Dark Waters (MG Horror, book 3 in the Small Spaces Series) as predicted, which is great ๐ฅฐ I also had high hopes for I Killed Zoe Spanos (YA Mystery) and The Darkness Outside Us (YA Sci-Fi/Mystery), but they missed the mark a bit. Still enjoyable books, but I was hoping for a bigger ‘Wow’ Factor!

I had some more things to do for University and was in a weird mood all month.ย I couldn’t even tell you why, but my mental health was a bit down. Maybe it’s because I had to start studying for my final exam in October or because there were two extensive assignments left to finish by the end of September. I’m not working as concentrated at home, but I really wanted to use the time to spend more time with my family before the next semester starts! Luckily I could Skype with one of my classmates, so we could chat and also talk about the exam, which we’re both taking. Apart from that not much was going on, but the end of the year will likely be more busy ๐
My mood for this month ๐ค
โจ Highlights โจ
โฝ What I Watched in September โคย My friend and I watched Part 5.1 of Money Heist (probably my favorite part so far, something about it really spoke to me! Part 5.2 should be coming in December), the animated Witcher movie and started Outer Banks (which actually gives me more summer vibes ๐). I also watched The Mitchells vs. the Machines, because it sounded interesting but sadly it was a complete miss for me ๐
โฝ Hauling some spooky books ๐ป I haven’t bought many physical books this year, but I had to get some spooky books that I want to read next month and I’m so excited to devour them ๐ค I hauled Girl of Nightmares, A Monster Calls ๐, Small Spaces ๐ and Thirteens. I also got Anna Dressed in Blood ๐ and Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye on Kindle!
I also got The Pearl Thief ~ the only non spooky book in this picture ๐
October means all the spooky things ๐ป In case you didn’t know it yet, I’m a scaredy cat but still a big fan of October because it means Halloween and reading all the scary books I have been saving for this time of the year! (Plus some spooky shows, I have been meaning to watch The Haunting of Bly Manor!) I have my last exam in the first week of October and will be moving back to my University flat as the semester starts at the end of the month. As always, I’m not that ready to go back for another semester, but October won’t be too busy, as things are just getting started. I have no idea how much will be in-person and what will be online, but I’ll report back in my October Wrapup ๐ I’m actually incredibly excited for my October TBR as I have been in the mood to read all the spooky/creepy books for weeks now and my reading motivation has steadily increased ๐ We’ll see how much I actually read, but I have a good feeling about this upcoming month ๐๐

Hey, Caro! Thanks so much for including my Peter Pan retellings list here! I really appreciate it! I also am really excited to see that you liked Dark Waters! I haven’t read it yet, but I think I will this month because, well, Halloween (obviously haha). I enjoyed the first book a lot, but felt on the fence about the second installment. I guess we’ll have to see how I feel about this one.
Also, I hope you your move back to your university apartment goes smoothly and that you are able to make the transition without too much stress!
Wishing you a lovely October, Caro! ๐

I’m sorry September wasn’t the best month for you but I hope October feels better. Sending you good vibes and of course best of luck with your exam (if you haven’t done it yet) and moving back to uni. ๐ I am quite excited about autumn time too, I’m ready for the leaves and crisp weather. Whilst I don’t typically do anything for Halloween I am feeling like watching some spooky movies!! ๐
Speaking of movies, I’m glad you enjoyed the latest part of money heist. I hadn’t been following it but I’ve heard a lot about it this time and I am intrigued.
I’m sorry The Darkness Outside Us didn’t wow you, I heard it had quite a different vibe to the cover which surprised me !! I hope you have lots of great reads this month though.
Of course, thank you for sharing my post here too. It always means a lot !! ๐

I hope you get around to continuing Money Heist, the last part was one of the best ones! The Darkness Outside Us was definitely darker and had more thriller/mystery elements than I expected ๐ฑ Always happy to share your posts! I hope you have a good October ๐

I hope your mental health will be better in October โค I don't plan to read any spooky books really since I never do well with spooky or scary things. Though I did read The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino which was quite spooky and which is definitely a very good October read!
