Hello fellow bookworms π Merry Christmas Eve! It’s time for another Reading Diary! I knew I had to do another one for the festive season, as I planned to read a lot of perfect Christmas/winter books π This time I joined the Reindeer Readathon again and you can see my TBR here! However, I also read a lot of other books that didn’t fit the prompts and made use of many graphic novels and audiobooks. I didn’t intend to read quite so much, but in the end, it turned out I read 24Β books and the year isn’t even over yetΒ π I stopped my Reading Diary on Christmas Eve because I wanted to do a festive theme, but there are a couple more months left in the year!

π Festive Update πΒ
β½ I didn’t start out December feeling super festive if I’m being honest. I think it was the lingering stress from November that still made me feel tired, but I tried my best to make things cozy! I baked Waffles over the weekend, made some soup and rewatched Home Alone with a friend, which was super nice and made for a relaxed weekend β€οΈΒ I didn’t think that I had read much so far, but then I was surprised to find out that it was more than expecteed! I also binge-read 4 picture books one evening when I was in a bad mood and it was the best form of self-care π₯°

π Festive Update πΒ
β½ I got really into reading again and tried to make myself feel a bit more festive! I went to Starbucks on Monday and had a Gingerbread Latte with a cinnamon roll (small victories: I wanted to eat that cinnamon roll since before the pandemic started but it never ended up happening, until now!) I also cheered myself up with some of my favorite Christmas movies (Arthur Christmas & Elf; I also watched Princess Switch 3 with my friend and it was surprisingly more fun than the two previous ones π). It also SNOWED AGAIN!!!! which made me very happy as I love snow so much! Another highlight was watching Alexandra Roselyn’s Vlogmas videos and her sprints with Gavin! I couldn’t attend them live (it’s at 1am for me) but I watched them afterward and I loved the slumber party atmosphere so much β€οΈ

π Festive Update πΒ
β½ This was my lastΒ full week before going home for the holidays! It was the week I finally felt myself relax a tiny bit which was nice. I watched a ton of Christmas Movies (Let it Snow, A Christmas Carol, Home Alone 2; plus Single All the Way with my friend) and had breakfast + also dinner with a classmate. We went to this one cafΓ© that was super festively decorated and offered Christmas specials (I had a very delicious brownie with cookie crumble on top) π₯° On Sunday, I took the train home to my family, as I only have online classes the following week! I read The Girl Who Saved Christmas on the train in one sitting because it was so good! π

π Festive Update πΒ
β½ I still had some classes right before Christmas, but I enjoyed the time at home π₯°Β I watched two more Christmas movies (David and the Elves and my annual rewatch of The Polar Express) and was finally able to read in the bath again!! I don’t have a bathtub at my flat, but I love bath bombs, lighting candles and reading a book, which I got to do again! I also continued coloring in my new Advent Calender Coloring Book while listening to the Christmasaurus. This was a reread for me, but I saw that my library just got a special ‘musical’ audiobook versionΒ π It contains some extra songs the author came up with that aren’t in the original story, which was fun!

What have you read in December? Any new favorite books? Did you read any good festive books? π
I’m glad you got to watch so many festive movies and read so many festive books. I really need to check out festive books at some point because I can’t believe I have never read one. I am very curious about The Afterlife of Holly Chase though. It’s so nice you got to read in the bath again, I tried it for the first time this year and it is very relaxing. Happy Holidays Caro! π Loved this festive reading diary!!
