What I’ve been up to in February πŸ’• Lots of Studying AND Lots of Books πŸ˜±

February Wrapup

Hello fellow bookworms πŸ’• We’ve finally made it to March! February is the shortest month of the year, yet it felt really long and tedious for me. Mostly because I was studying for my finals and didn’t have a change of scenery for weeks πŸ˜ͺ In the beginning I was stressed, and then mostly tired. The exam is next Monday and after that I’ve got my semester break!! I cannot wait for that, as I would love to write the exam now to get it over with πŸ˜… I announced a hiatus on Twitter because studying was taking a toll, but I’m happy to announce it will be over next week & I’ll catch up on anything I have missed!

I read 36 books in February which I honestly didn’t expect, especially as I knew I had to study for my exam. 28 of these were graphic novels for the month-long GraphicsAThon, that really boosted my reading! I could easily read a graphic novel in the evening most days as they are quicker to read and I love visual media ❀️ I hadn’t planned on fulfilling the ‘reading 28 graphics’ challenge, it just happened naturally because I was having so much fun! I also made use audiobooks (I listened to 6 this month) when I was feeling tired and not up for reading a book visually, it really helped to motivate me to read when I didn’t have much energy. I found my first least-favorite book of the year (Squad), but I had five 5-star reads, so my reading year is going amazing so far! I never have found this many favorites this early in the year πŸ’•

OC Update (1)

I read 9 books out of my comfort zone this month and I’m really happy that I’m reading so much this year! I have been reading more adult books recently (Adult Romance ftw ~ all the books in Part 1) and it has been lovely: I enjoyed all the books I read πŸ₯° I also picked up two nonfiction graphic novels (Spinning & Ain’t Burned All the Bright), as I have loved this combination before! The only book I was a bit disappointed by was A Psalm for the Wild-Built – my buddy read with Destiny – as it was lacking so much story structure and pace, despite the cozyness and robots.

life stuff

Studying, Studying and more Studying. As you can see, nothing too exciting happened this month (which doesn’t have to be a bad thing). I was mostly studying for my upcoming exam and finishing up my assignments. I’m glad that I only had 1 (instead of 3) exam to study for, but there were a lot of topics to cover. The professor is super cool but he always has long powerpoint presentations with many studies and examples that we also had to know. In the beginning it was very overwhelming and I was feeling stressed, especially as it was hard to commit it to long-term memory. Luckily, our prof clarified that there were some parts that wouldn’t come up in the exam, but it was a bit late. Towards the end of the month the stress wasn’t as bad, but staying in all the time to study took a toll on me as well, especially in the week when none of my friends could meet up. I’m glad I have everything finished before my semester break at least!

πŸ’« Highlights πŸ’«

➽ What I Watched in February ❀ Once again, I watched some great, entertaining shows 😊

'Raising Dion' Will Return for Season 2 Netflix's Inventing Anna Early Review The Darkest Minds (ζš—ι»‘δΉ‹εΏƒ) Movie Review | by TiffanyYong.comΒ Emily in Paris on Netflix | TV Show, Episodes, Reviews and ...

  • Raising Dion (S2) ~ So glad this show got renewed for another season! Normally I’m not that into superhero shows, but this is so well-made, suspenseful and has great characters πŸ₯°
  • Inventing Anna (S1) ~ This was a new show that looked intriguing and is I think based on a true article. The episodes were all pretty long but super interesting. The main character ‘Anna Delvey’ was very intriguing and I liked uncovering the mystery of who she really was πŸ‘€
  • The Darkest MindsΒ (Movie) ~ I wanted to read the book first & watch the movie in March but it left Netflix on Feb 28th, so I had to rethink my plan πŸ˜‚ I really liked the movie though, it was lots of fun and I cannot wait to finally read the book!
  • Emily in Paris (S2) ~ My friend and I had to watch the second season and it was a fun mess πŸ˜‚ I’m mostly here for Paris and the drama tbh, I even like some of the characters! The most annoying thing is the constant cheating though.

➽ Mini Magical Readathon Announcement! I participated in the new version of the Magical Readathon last September and was excited to find out that there will be a smaller week-long Readathon in March, in the second week of my break πŸŽ‰ This is one of my favorite Readathons and I loved picked out my TBR (coming soon πŸ‘€)

looking ahead

We’re finally in March! My semester break is fast approaching and I’m very excited! It’s my last chance to rest before I start my 3 month long internship in Mid April and I hope to make the most of it ❀️ I’m still nervous about the internship, especially as I’m no longer used to being out of the house all day and probably won’t have much time. That’s why I’ll use the free time I have ahead of me. I’m planning on reading a lot, participating in the week-long Magical Readathon and catching up on blogging πŸ˜„ I also hope to play some games on my Nintendo again, listen to some podcasts and generally relax!

  1. I’m sure, all the time you took for studying will pay off and I hope that will mean you can enjoy your break in March πŸ™‚ Also, I watched the Darkest Minds movie before reading the book too and it worked well for me. There’s a bunch of differences that keep the experience interesting. I’m sad they never continued the movies, I liked the cast.
And thank you so much for sharing my posts!! You’re the best!! ❀ ❀

    1. Thank you, Kat! 😊 I’ve now read The Darkest Minds as well and I liked seeing the differences between book and movie! I also wish they had continued the movies, sadly so many get canceled after the first movie nowadays πŸ₯Ί I’ll definitely continue the books though πŸ₯° You’re welcome! I hope you’re having a good March ❀️

  4. Wishing you all the luck for your exam! πŸ’œ I hope you’ll have a lovely break before your internship. What is the topic of your internship, if I can ask? πŸ₯Ί
Lore Olympus is gorgeously illustrated, I was in awe of all the colours. I’m sad to see you didn’t love The Magic Fish, what aspect did you not enjoy?
Morrigan Crow and Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods 😍 I have the illustrated version of the latter, it’s a huge book, I only dare to read it either on my bed or at a desk. πŸ˜‚ I’ve been meaning to do a reread of it, hopefully I’ll do it this year.
Thank you for sharing my post. πŸ₯Ί

    1. Thank you! The exam went really well ❀️ My internship will be about health management/work-life balance at my university and I hope it’ll go well πŸ™πŸ» Lore Olympus truly had the most stunning colors, I’m glad that I finally gave it a try 😊 The art for The Magic Fish was also great, but since it tells three stories in one, I found that the fairytales took away a bit from the main story for me personally πŸ₯Ί Nevermoor and Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods were such highlights! I would love a copy of the latter πŸ₯° You’re welcome! I hope you’re having a great March 🌷

  5. The whole revision process sounds intense and I wish you all the luck for your exam next week. That moment when the exam is over and you can *breathe* is sooo nice. I hope you enjoy your well-earned break after! Wow, so many graphic novels. That’s amazing! I have seen many I need to read. I read Finding Home by Hari Conner last month on tapas and that was a really enjoyable webcomic/graphic novel. I’m happy to see you enjoyed Boyfriend Material and Act Your Age, Eve Brown. I can’t wait to read them! I hope you enjoy Amari and The Night Brothers, I am currently halfway through it and really enjoying it! I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on Turtle Under Ice and Before The Coffee Gets Cold too. Have a wonderful March πŸ’•
