Hello fellow bookworms ✨ I’m officially back from my hiatus and so excited to get back to blogging!! We’re starting off with another exciting announcement: the Magical Readathon is returning for a small round next week and I’m so hyped! I had a lot of fun last September for the previous round of the Readathon and the timing couldn’t be more perfect, as I’m on my semester break right now ❤️ I managed to read all of my character creation prompts, but after some reflection, I wasn’t too happy with my character anymore and revamped Aliyah a bit. I decided to change her personality and motivations up a bit, but mostly stuck to the same characteristics (Guild, species etc.) and now I’m much happier with her! Time to dive into what the Readathon is about and of course my TBR 📚

Information about the Readathon ✨
What is the new Magical Readathon all about?
This new version of the Magical Readathon takes place on a planet called Aeldia, which is inhabited by a variety of species, who each have their own culture and magical talents. Magic emerged in this world following a meteor impact and infused it with a magical energy called Ammelorite. People studied and learned to control magic which turned into the Orilium Academy being founded. The first installment of the Readathon was hosted all throughout September 2021 and focused on the Novice Path in order to reach the Academy! It was an intro segment to the world and allowed us to form our own characters.
The next part of the Readathon is supposed to be in April, but there will be a Mini Readathon from March 14th-20th in order to prepare ourselves for the first year at the Academy. At the end of the Novice Path our characters were sorted into different Guilds that each have their own specialities. This becomes relevant again, as the aim of the week-long Readathon is to claim your Conduit (= artifact that channels magic) and Legacy (= special abilities of your Guild)! There are different options for Conduit & Legacy, but you only have to choose one of each (so 2 prompts in total). Since I’m on my semester break and have lots of time, I’ll challenge myself to read 4 books (2 for Conduit and Legacy each), but will only pick which 2 count for my character ✨
This is my character’s Guild 💜

Gear Up: Mini Readathon TBR ✨
Conduit (Spellbook) ✨ book with at least two S in the title
Greenglass House (Kate Milford) ➽ I have been meaning to read this book since the beginning of this year, but every time my reading plans were disrupted. Now that I have my own copy, I’ll finally be reading Greenglass House for this Readathon ❤️ This is a wintery MG Mystery about a hotel and the mysterious guests that keep arriving on Christmas Eve during a big snow storm. I read the 1st chapter of the book already and loved it so much, it was so cozy and I cannot wait to read more ✨
Conduit (Crystal) ✨ crystal/mineral name in the (series) title
Heart of Iron (Ashley Poston) ➽ I used to love (collecting) crystals and gemstones when I was younger, so having a crystal as a conduit especially spoke to me! Sadly, I struggled a lot with the prompt as it’s very specific and hard to find books for that I was interested in. The host then also allowed me to include any mineral name, which helped as I choose Heart of Iron! I loved Ashley Poston’s contemporary retelling series and I have been wanting to read something else by her. This sci-fi has been on my shelves for so long and I’m eager to finally pick it up 🥰
Legacy (Ring of Protection) ✨ read a Middle Grade book
The Strangeworld’s Travel Agency (L.D. Lapinski) ➽ Ever since reading the Nevermoor books, I have been craving more magical MG Fantasy books that completely draw in. The Strangeworld’s Travel Agency is a strong candidate, as it looks right up my alley and a quick read through the first chapter confirms that this is really intriguing! Since I have to wait for Nevermoor’s fourth book until October (🥺) I need a new MG series to love 😊 This one has travel between worlds and I love concepts that involve dimensions/time travel so much!
Legacy (Pocket Dimension) ✨ read an ebook
Damaged Goods (Talia Hibbert) ➽ This was a pretty easy prompt to me, as I mainly read e-books nowadays 😂 I picked Damaged Goods (Ravenswood #1.5) as I have been enjoying buddy-reading the series with Destiny and have loved reading all the romance by Talia Hibbert this year 🥰 This is a novella set after the first book ‘A Girl Like Her’ and exploring the background story of one of the minor characters. Therefore, this is on the shorter side, which is good, as I do plan on reading all these 4 books within a week 😄
