Hello fellow bookworms πΒ It’s finally time to get festive again!!! After taking a break from Readathons in Novemver due to university workload, I’m back again with the Christmas themed Readathons π There were so many to choose from as usual, so I stuck with 2 Readathons of various lengths (one week and the entire month). I already participated in the Tistheseasonathon last year and it was so much fun!! I try doing longer Readathons, as I cannot read as much within a week anymore, but I couldn’t resist signing up again π The Reindeer Readathon was new to me, but I liked the concept and the friendliness on Twitter so I choose it as my second Readathon to sign up for. I honestly missed Readathons a lot, so I’m happy to be back!! π₯°
Information
The Tistheseasonathon is a week-long Christmas-themed Readathon, happening from November 30th to December 6th this year! With everything going on the hosts weren’t sure if they’d even do the Readathon, but I’m grateful they decided to host the Readathon this year π₯° I already took part last year and it was a lot of fun! With there being only 2 hosts this year, there won’t be Reading Sprints, but that’s okay as I think we’re all a bit tired and maybe also busy during the end of the year. There is an amazing bingo board, a discord chat and some additional reading challenges though & I hope I can make an update thread on Twitter for the week π
Challenges
- Read a holiday themed book
- Read a book you meant to get to this year but didn’t
- Read a book with lights on the cover
- Read a diverse book.
- A cozy read
- Extra/Bonus: Read the group book| In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
Hosts
- Heather @ bookablesΒ
- Amy @ A Court of Crowns and Quills
My Tistheseasonathon TBR
- Booked for Christmas (Lily Menon) β½ A cozy read
- This Winter (Alice Oseman) β½ Read a diverse book (features a gay MC with an eating disorder, Bi LI)
- A Boy Called Christmas (Matt Haig) β½ Read a holiday themed book
- Let it Snow (Green, Myracle, Johnson) β½ Read a holiday themed book
As this Readathon is only a week long, I’m choosing some rather short books and a reread, as in between university work I won’t have much time for more π I definitely want to read Booked for Christmas (Lily is Sandhya Menon’s pen name for adult books and as I loved her YA books, I wanted to also try out her adult stories) and This Winter (set in the Solitaire/Heartstopper universe), as both are festive novellas by authors I love and also quick reads for the evening or in between tasks! After loving Matt Haig’s nonfiction books so much, I also wanted to read some fiction by him and this Middle Grade story is both festive and not that long: I hope my hold arrives on time π If I still have some time I’d also like to start my reread of Let It Snow. I like anthologies as I can read the stories separately, even though these are interconnected!
You can also watch the Let it Snow adaption on Netflix β
Information
The Reindeer Readathon is a Christmas-themed Readathon, happening from December 1st to December 31st this year!Β I didn’t participate in this Readathon before, but it sounded like so much fun, so I couldn’t resist! I like that the challenges are themed around Santa’s Reindeers, that was quite cute π₯° The Readathon also operates with competing Teams that are managed by the hosts. You get your Team Assignment after filling out the form and I got Team Candy Cane, led by Amanda!! I like the extra challenge and as the Readathon runs all month, I have more time to read, especially with the Christmas Holiday Break! π

- RUDOLPH β½ 20 PTS β½ A book where the main character doesn’t seem to fit in (outsider, misfit).
My Reindeer Readathon TBR
- Snow in Love (De la Cruz, Stone, Friedman, West) β½ RUDOLPH (MC who doesn’t fit in)
- One Way or Another (Kara McDowell) β½ BLITZEN (about a struggle)Β
- The Bear and the Nightingale (Katherine Arden) β½ VIXEN (strong female MC), CUPID (genre you love), COMET (an intimidating book)
- My True Love Gave to Me (Anthology) β½ DONNER (something hidden: couples are featured on the cover)
- The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily (Cohn & Levithan) β½ DANCER (sequel)
Of course I’ll also count the books I read for the Tistheseasonathon for the Reindeer Readathon, but here I’ll mention some other books I’d love to read during December. I’m planning on rereading Snow in Love and My True Love Gave to Me like every year. I love these anthologies a lot and the stories being separate should make it easier for me to incorporate them into my everyday life π₯° (I haven’t pictured it here, but I’ll also read A Christmas Carol again, another festive tradition for me!) I do plan on reading some new festive stories as well though. After hearing Marie gush about it so much, I couldn’t resist also putting One Way or Another on my TBR! π It gives off festive vibes, has a main character with anxiety and looks at different timelines, so I have high hopes for this book! I also want to finally get to The Bear and the Nightingale: I bought it last year, but haven’t read it yet. It’s a bit intimidating as it’s pretty beloved, so I hope I like it as well!Β Last but not least, I want to continue with the Dash & Lily Trilogy! I read the first book twice now and while it’s not my favorite story, I would like to read more (also going to watch the TV series with a friend!). I put in my hold at the library a bit too late, so I hope this comes in on time π
The TV show already looks cute π₯°
Are you participating in Tistheseasonathon, Reindeer Readathon or any wintery Readathons? Have you read any of the books on my TBR? π
This looks so fun and festive!! I had planned to low-key take part in TisTheSeasonA’Thon but Reindeer Readathon sounds really fun too. Ah I wish I had a bit more time this month to read all the festive books π₯° I haven’t read Dash and Lily but I really liked the Netflix show!

I hope you participate in the Readathons (the Reindeer Readathon is great because it takes place all month) as they always make me so motivated to read π₯° I’m also struggling with time this month but I have some shorter books, rereads and audiobooks planned which helps a lot π I just started watching the Netflix show with a friend and we both love it π

Oh, these look so cute!! Good luck with your tbr!
You will sure like the Dash and Lily Netflix series, it was enjoyable and it got me into festive mood! (Though I’ve watched it in November, but who cares? π)

Ooh, this all looks very interesting! Good luck! I’ve had terrible luck when participating in readathons but your tbr looks great! (shockingly enough, I have yet to read an Alice Oseman book…AH!)

Thank you, Phoenix! Readathons always motivate me to read, but it helps that I also often change up my TBR depending on my reading mood π I highly recommend Alice Oseman’s books, they are such great contemporaries π

Oh, yeah. I don’t feel like I have time to do readathons often, but maybe I’ll try one sometime! Yesss, Oseman’s books have been recommended to me so much!

I totally get that, this is why I love month-long Readathons, they are more relaxed π I think my favorite by her is Radio Silence!

Hi Caro!! I havenβt been on WordPress or looked at any book blogs for months now so itβs exciting to be back – I need to catch up on your posts so prepare for a spam haha.
Loved reading your tbr here because Iβm looking for some festive reads right now! Iβm going to be carrying on with Dash and Lily as well after watching the series! Iβve read books 1 and 2 and really liked them and so after seeing the series I decided to reread them before book 3 (which I never knew about!) Unfortunately I didnβt love book 1 as much as I did when I was younger but Iβm still going to carry on because I love the Christmas vibes and it was a still a cosy fun read.

Thank you so much, Ruby!! I’m having a lot of fun with the Readathons and have since also joined another one ππ I sadly haven’t yet started The Bear & The Nightingale, but I hope to do so before the year ends, as I’ve heard such good things π₯°
