Christmas Songs Book Tag 🎧🎄All I Want for Christmas Is Books

Christmas Songs Tag

Hello fellow bookworms 🎄 It’s time for another festive Book Tag! I love doing Christmas Book tags and this one seemed like such fun as it’s themed around the different Christmas Songs 🥰 I saw this Tag last year on Ashley’s Blog and knew I needed to do it this year! The Tag was originally created by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl 🎅🏻

Tagging … 🎅🏻

“All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Favorite Bookish Couple

  • Astrid & Jordan from Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail
  • Viola & Gracewood from A Lady for a Duke
  • Teo & Aurelio from The Sunbearer Trials

I’m including some of my favorite couples from books I read in 2022! ➽ This was such a hard choice, because there were quite a few great couples, but these are the ones that stood out to me the most 💕

“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: A Book Where a Character is Away From Home (School, Vacation, Etc.)

Tokyo Ever After (Emiko Jean) ➽ The follows Izumi who finds out that the father she never knew is the Crown Prince of Japan – making her a real-life princess! Before she knows it, she’s flying to Japan in order to meet her father and do her duties as a new member of the royal household. Izumi is a lovable character, her humor and energy really shine! Her strong character voice makes the book such a delight to read and I had so much fun following her adventures as a new princess.

“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”: Your Favorite “Little” Book (Children’s Book, Short Story, Novella, Etc.)

The Strangeworlds Travel Agency (L.D. Lapinski) ➽ This is such a fun Middle Grade adventure all about traveling between worlds! The story follows 12-year-old Flick Hudson who finds a mysterious bureau called The Strangeworlds Travel Agency in the new town she moves to. Led by 18-year-old Jonathan Mercator it’s a magical place full of suitcases that have the ability to take you to different worlds that exist besides our own. The concept is SO unique and I immediately fell in love with it! 🥰

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town“: What Book(s) Do You Hope Santa Brings You This Year?

  • The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (Sangu Mandanna)
  • The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy (Megan Bannen)
  • Winterwood (Shea Ernshaw)

It was so hard to choose, as I want to read all the books 😂 ➽ I’ve actually made a bigger list with lots of options that my friends and family can choose from, as I like to be a bit surprised by what I actually get 👀

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Which Book Turned Your Nose Red (Made You Cry)?

One Cup at a Time (Matt Tarpley) ➽ One Cup at a Time follows the familiar setting of Cat’s Café, located in a town populated by several animals that all love their favorite coffee shop. The heartfelt discussions of mental health struggles, self-care, friendship, and getting through bad days once again make this such a relatable and comforting book ❤️ I love the slice of life format that shows us the daily life of the residents, sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s sad or heartwarming 🥺

“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Your Favorite Book/Kind of Book to Read During the Holidays

  • The Miracle on Ebenezer Street (Catherine Doyle)
  • A Boy Called Christmas (Matt Haig)
  • The Christmasaurus (Tom Fletcher)

Festive Middle Grade books! ➽ I love reading something cozy during the Holidays and Middle Grade books are perfect for that. There are a lot of them with festive and wintery vibes, that feel so comforting. I also love when there’s humor and whimsy involved as well 🎄

“We Three Kings”: Your Favorite Trilogy

The Shadow Game (Amanda Foody) ➽ I love this series so much! It’s got one of my favorite fantasy worlds that consumed me when I was reading it and the plot is full of twists as well. There is a diverse cast of characters and supportive female friendships! For me, The Shadow Game books are how a Fantasy series should be written. THIS is how you do it! No sequel syndrome, no copout finale, I was hooked from start to finish!

“Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”: A Character You Would Love to be Snowed in With

The Hotel Deucalion Crew (Morrigan, Jack, Jupiter & the staff) ➽ Nevermoor is one of my absolute favorites and I love all the characters dearly! I’d definitely not mind being snowed in with them, especially if it’s the hotel we’re snowed in. The hotel itself is so cozy and unique, it’d be a great place to spend Christmas. And Jupiter & co are their own little family and would be super welcoming 🥰

Divider2

“Last Christmas”: A Book that Seriously Let You Down

The Roughest Draft (Emily Wibberley, Austin Siegemund-Broka) ➽ I loved What’s Not to Love by the same authors but this wasn’t it 😭 There was so much potential for a summer romance a la Beach Read, but it wasn’t used at all. In my opinion, this book was mismarketed as it’s NOT a typical romance (e.g. it doesn’t follow the basic structure) and feels more like contemporary fiction. I expected a cute summer romance (the cover suggests this as well) and got something completely different with super irritating characters and lots of emotional cheating 😔

“White Christmas”: An Upcoming Release You’re Dreaming About

Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow (Jessica Townsend) ➽ This was supposed to release this year, but due to the author’s health issues, it was pushed back to October 2023. I’m definitely willing to wait longer though, especially as this is one of my favorite Middle Grade series 💕 I discovered the Nevermoor books in 2021 and have caught up with them this year, so I cannot wait for the next book to come out! This is probably one of my most anticipated 2023 releases right now 🥰

  3. This is such a fun post! Thank you for tagging me! 🥰

And that’s such a good idea, making a big list of books so people can pick different ones for presents! I really need to read A Lady for a Duke and The Sunbearer Trials from this list. Both are from authors I’ve loved before. And you’ve convinced me that I need to try out The Shadow Game trilogy! 😄
